SUGAR ADDICTION

Sugar addiction

Those who have a sugar addiction have difficulty, or might find it impossible to stop eating sugar. A sugar addict always eats more than he intended to. By sugar we mean sweets, bread, pasta, chocolate, soft drinks, buns, cakes and other carbohydrates. Some of us even overeat regular food. One Sugar addict might like the crispy sensation and then prefer to eat chips or crispbread. Others prefer soft foods such as pasta and chocolate.

In stages of the addiction we often use stratagies to control our food intake by vomiting, overexersizing or restricting. Some have gained weight while others have a normal weight.

Sugar addiction expresses itself in many different ways. However, one thing the sugar addict has in common. We usually eat in solitude so that no one will see what and how much we eat. The amount and way we eat often rise feelings of shame and guilt. Sometimes these feelings can grow as big as to eat away the shame. We also eat on our emotions; happy, sad, angry or sad.
